[at-l] Florida "Snow"

On Wednesday, I received about 30 inches of "snow"! It pretty much snowed
all day, making for some nasty driving. It seems a lot of the folks here
this time of year don't usually get this much snow, and they were crazier
than ever on the roads.

The snowfall wasn't very beautiful, and it was quite noisy actually. Come
to think of it, all the snow must've melted because it appeared very similar
to summer rain, but it couldn't have been, could it? It's still winter for
goodness sakes!

I used my RainShield O2 rain gear to stay dry while washing my car in this
snow, and it worked, except for the sweat I was starting to create. It
brought back fond memories of Virginia last year on the AT. Only this time,
I didn't have to worry about blisters.... I wasn't wearing shoes.

:-)
Drowned Wench

P.S. I decided not to attend the annual family ski trip this year. My
family is in NC until today, and my understanding is they received a good
bit of the white stuff. Anyone know what conditions are like in and around
Boone, NC area? I think they're leaving today to drive back down here.
Hopefully no ice for them....
