I started with a Pepsi bottle and switched to a Gatorade bottle. It seemed
that the Gatorade bottle lid stuck with the alcohol in it. There were a few
times that it was very difficult to open. (And I was the one that closed
it.) I saw someone else toward the beginning of the hike that had the same
problem, but he had to cut the top off. I never had to do that. Don't know
why I switched bottles in the first place....

Due miscommunication with myself :-) I "forgot" parts of my stove when I
started my hike. Unimportant things like pot stand and windscreen. I used
rocks as a pot stand and partial windscreen for the first 4 days. It
worked, but I was glad to have the whole set up from Neels Gap on. Just
goes to show, many things will work.
