[at-l] Tuscarora Trail Closure
WELL,
The good thing is that this is a short section that is closed and it
is near one end. There are some very large portions the TT on private
land. We came to a lot of posted signs when we hiked it. The word on
those particular posted areas was that hikers were welcome and hunters
and ATV's where not welcome. This section was probably closed
because someone did not respect the property. You really can not blame
a land owner if someone leaves trash, cuts trees or causes erosion. I
try to follow a private land owners rules when crossing their
property. If I have the chance to meet a landowner I always thank them
for the use of their property. If they know that how much some people
appreciate this privilege then maybe they will be less responsive to
the occasional jerk. And a final plug for The Nature Conservancy who
donated a portion of land for the TT to use.
