[at-l] Follow Through On Global Warming (OT)

>"... from now on...when given the opportunity, I shall endeavor to use the
>phase 'Gore created the Internet' rather than the gross mis-characterization of
>'Gore invented the Internet". Accept my humble and heartfelt abject apology for
>the error," reports J. Bryan.

I have no idea what Gore was trying to say, but I know it wasn't either that he
had invented or had created the internet. Having interviewed hundreds of people
over the decades -- and been interviewed a few times myself, including this
week, I know how hard it is to always respond in ways one's precise meaning is
conveyed.

It was always my practice and the practice of competent journalists to ask
enough follow up questions so the meaning is obvious. Sadly, some reporters like
to play Gotcha, thus doing a disservice to the interviewee and to their readers.

As for the citations J. Bryan provided, they don't tell me anything useful about
global warming, though they obviously are designed to persuade the ignorant.
