[at-l] Why I hate south Florida (OT)

We've even had a few incidents involving criminals operating here in central
Florida, the home of "Mickey Mouse World". Imagine that?!?

But, regardless of bursting any remaining bubbles of innocence regarding
Florida The Paradise, I do feel the need to point out that Kelly may be
jumping to several incorrect conclusions regarding the "missing crab trap
situation". In fact, based on my experience with various types of traps
commonly placed in waterbodies, I think that it's entirely possible that
this may not be a case involving a human thief at all.

Kelly- Is it possible that the trap was moved by a curious manatee or that
some other type of non-human (or human, but non-theft action) caused a
re-location of the trap? Did the trap have a floating buoy or some other
type of marker at the surface of the water? Or, was the trap line attached
to your dock or another structure in the water?

Sorry to play the role of the police investigator or the defense attorney
here, but I really do believe in the concept of people being considered
innocent of a crime until they have been proven guilty. (And, I hate
thieves too!)

Wait, wait, wait! I thought this was nirvana, the place of dreams, the Eden
of America, where you sit around the pool in Jan. and have drinks and plant
tomatoes and stuff. So..... it turns out to be just like the rest of the
US, huh? <G>
