[at-l] Holmes, Cold Weather and Life



>From news reports this severe weather hasn't been seen in the NE for 20
years or more and my guess is that this fellow just didn't understand how
dangerous it is, even to those prepared for the cold. I've seen 30 and 40
below (w/o wind chill, one night it got to 52 below) in Idaho and was never
even slightly tempted to go camping, altho we did go exploring. But never
too far from the 4-Wheel drive. Its even too cold to cross country ski at
those temps.
