[at-l] Monday 12th January - my birthday - day hike

Mon., Jan. 12th is my birthday. i should, if all things go well, be doign a
small day hike on the AT. most likely  between I-70 and something like the
washington monument in Maryland.

My mother had a free day off from work from last year that she needs to use
up and so she took off work and is coming with me. she hates the cold and i
dont think has really been hiking since i was only 12. between the cold and
the miles and the small hills i have a feeling i will not be setting any
land speed records but it should be fun. i am going to try to get about a 10
mile round trip hike (5 miles one way and 5 miles back).

Maybe i will see someone out there but i doubt it( the trail is alwasy empty
and void of people when ever i go there)

hope there is minimal ice.
