[at-l] Introduction etc..

I joined this list a few weeks ago, and did not introduce myself. My apologies for the breach in etiquette. Here goes...

My wife Suzanne (aka Trail Widow) and I live on Signal Mountain which is about 8 miles north of Chattanooga, Tennessee. We relocated from Warwick, NY this past year. We live about 1.5 miles from the Southern terminus of the Cumberland Trail, a long distance trail that will eventually stretch 280 miles to Cumberland Gap. I'm hiking a 13-mile section of the Cumberland Trail tomorrow.

I like puppies, sunsets, long walks on exposed ridgelines, Miss Janet (although UJ has not personally done me wrong), and my favorite color is Hunter Green (of course!)

I am tempted to attend the SORUCK in SC next weekend, but I have been hankering for a hike of some kind. While it would be nice to see Spur & Ready again (last time was in 2000 in Andover, ME at Old Home Days - thanks for the chicken guys!) and meet some of the folks from AT--L, the lure of a hike is too great. I've decided to hike South Carolina's 76-mile Foothills Trail from Oconee State Park to Tablerock State Park starting on Jan 16. There is an option to lengthen the hike by about 10 miles by taking the Ceasar's Head Spur, but 76 miles is probably enough for me at this point. I ain't exactly in thru-hiker shape, if ya know what I mean.

The Foothills Trail has some of the best waterfalls of any trail on the East Coast. I'll post a journal on trailjournals.com complete with photos for anyone that might be interested in this great trail. The journal will be live in a few days. I'll be hiking with my buddy Youngblood (GA-ME 2000), and perhaps another bloke or two.

Happy Hiking!
