[at-l] Handbook/Companion/Data Book/Guide ??

>I found the profiles to be fun and interesting, but I didn't really take them all that seriously.<

Actually, I cut the profile maps off, stick them in my pack, and leave the rest of the map in the car. They're what I hike by. Mostly that works fine, sometimes not, but it works as well as most methods. One of the best things about them is the mileage marks along the bottom.

The profile maps of the Camino in Spain have the hills so compressed that a slow grade looks as though it goes straight up. Those I didn't use. I don't think we used any map for that, just the list of hostels with the mileage between them listed. There were no problems doing it that way.
