[at-l] Postal Packages on the AT Trail

We had this problem last summer. We mailed an address change from the next
post office. We just changed from General Delivery in one postoffice to
another. It should work the same to forward to a hostel. Our package was
priority mail so forwarding didn't cost anything. I am not sure how parcel
post works. I would expect you could change your address and have anything
forwarded as a service of the postal service.

Another thing to try is to go knock on the doors of the post office. Many
postal workers will give you your box after posted hours. We did that trick
in Hampton, TN last Memorial Day. We thought we were stuck in town until
Tuesday. We walked across town to McDonalds to eat breakfast and hangout.
When we walked back past the post office there was a car parked behind the
building. I banged on the door until the woorker answered the door. He was
nice and gave me our package. A couple hours later we were on our way!
