The state did its first bear hunt in 33 years in order to cull the
increasing number of bears in recent years. 600 bears will be taken out of a
population of 3600.
If you noticed, the TV coverage was based in the Wawayanda State
Park parking lot. Wawayanda Shelter on the AT is only a few hundred yards away...
