Ryan,

I really feel for you as I am sure most everyone on this list does.  I
really appreciate the time and expense you have given this list and to your
1000 friends.  Perhaps someone might suggest some very basic "rules" of just
common courtesy....such as no name calling or attacking or else expulsion
from the list (temporary, first time and permanent second). Anyone have any
ideas?  I love this unmoderated list and the ability to "say what you like".
It is sad that so many wonderful folks have left the list.  I am hoping that
they, like Orangebug, will return and share the reasons they left as well as
why they returned.  I want to help to make the list what it was and can be
again. But I don't know how.  Certainly giving up on it doesn't help but who
comes here to hear people attacking each other?  We can find that many
places off the list.  Only here can we find that friendly campfire and
people with a passion to share and communicate that love of hiking and the
trail....not to mention the caring about each other.

Who can come up with solutions to this current problem?   What do you want
from this list and why did you join in the first place? Jim? Weary? Anyone?
