I feel your pain.  I have arthritis in my feet too.  Among other places.
I could barely walk at the end of last year's vacation on the trail, 
thanks to arthritis.
The good news is that those glucosamine/msm/whatever pills
aren't all hype.  They do help a lot of people.  :)
