I am happy with my pair of MSR Denali snow shoes. The are synthetic and
don't look like traditional snow shoes. They are less exspensive then some of the
more popular brands. They have an expansion tail that allows you to get good
performance in different snow conditions. They are light weight and have
built in ice gripping devices. They are not as attractive as most of the more
common brands but I believe they are more versatile. They have a more expensive
model with an ascender device in the heel to make it easier to climb. Price
range $125 - $200.
