[at-l] weight loss (was Cooking Challenge)

I was one of those rare guys who gained weight on the trail. Then again I
can't afford to lose much <g>.

I camped with a couple of thru-hikers in southern Virginia and was
horrified when the woman poured off the cooking water from the pasta...
that was my "sauce" base, and the way I looked at it she was throwing away
calories...
She was teed-off 'cause she hadn't lost any weight yet...
