Mt Washington loses wind speed data and internet connection

Good evening from the top of the rock pile.

A combination of heavy rain, icing, and high winds caused the summit to loose internet access and wind speed data on Wednesday afternoon. Repair efforts later that day were hampered by winds in excess of 125mph. This afternoon, when winds dropped below 70mph, the summit team was able to install back up wind speed equipment.

After work on the tower was completed, the repair team shed multiple clothing layers and shifted to the dry and warm environment of the weather room. Tools were traded for keyboards, and an internet access system was established. Updates to the website have returned, but the observers comments will lack photos for the near future.
