[at-l] OT - Sparkys Back - Well Kind of

  I am back to the list.  It sure has been hectic since I totaled my car 
going to the Black Forest Trail head.  I have to say that really has had a big 
impact on my future plans.   To say that this accident really changed the way I 
look at things is a big understatement.  

  After the accident I had to find another vehicle and the money to pay for a 
used vehicle came from my AT fund.   I have a family to support so I was 
saving money for the actual trail expenses and a more to ensure I did not 
financially strap my family.   I had close to $5,000 in that account and it is all now 
gone,  5 years of savings spent in a matter of seconds.   It was pretty hard 
writing out that check for a vehicle and knowing it was putting my dreams on 
the back burner and knowing I would not be doing the AT when I retire.  

  I have been working on my Masters Degree, thanks for the encouragement Grey 
Owl, and that seems to be going along all right.    I should finish in time 
for my retirement in 2006.  I received word that I have been extended on Active 
duty until April of 2006 vice 2005 which is great for me.  

  As for BPing,  I am trying to plan on going one last time this season on 
the AT on a small section hike of three days...  I am waiting to see if anyone 
is heading to the black forest area and I may do that if the opportunity arises.
