[at-l] Looking down while hiking

I too have fallen while not looking down. The worst
one was right in the middle of Glasgow, VA with my
pack on my back. 
Then since I fell flat on my stomach, I couldn't get
up again without my husband getting me out of my pack.
I think the people going by in their cars probably
thought, " They better not let that woman on the
mountain when she can't even hike down the street."  I
was looking for the store where were going to buy ice
cream before hitching out of town to the AT.  It's
important to look down for other reasons too, like
snakes and little critters one might step on.
