weighs even less than 5 oz., but uses Sony's memory sticks and
is not given very high reviews on web. 

I bought instead the oh-so-popular canon 2meg (<$250, they now
go up to 5 meg) -- also very small, but full-featured. Like it
alot (even with limited usage), and I see what everyone raves
about. Popular with throughhikers. 

Sorry so short. But since I weighed the choices between the Sony
and Canon, I figured I better reply.
