How did you get that big tent on your back? ;-) Nice to see what you look
like.
As to still thru-hiking... Met a guy at my church this weekend. Apparently
one his assistants with his Scout troop has been section hiking a week at
the time. Well, someone his troop knows or is involved with. Nothing wrong
with hiking a week, a day, a month... at the time. Hiking that way is like
taking your time to savor a piece of pie and not trying to see how many pies
you can eat at once; then you usually do not taste the pie.

PS I once entered a pie eating contest. Almost won. Today I can't
tell what the pies were -- they were all the same. But I remember the cold,
sweet, tart taste of a piece of pie I had the other week, the flakiness of
the crust, and the just right doughiness of the bottom crust.

BTW, my "thru" hike was in 1993, not '83, though I'm still working on it.
