[at-l] "Pup Tent"... Where did the name come from?

I saw something about this on the History channel.  The name "Pup tent" 
was started by the army.  They said the the name "Pup" may refers to a 
"puppy" dog.  Soldiers wear "Dog tags", are called "Dog faces" and the 
tent was about the size of a dog house. Hence the term "Pup tent".
