[at-l] Slightly OT: Sugar Substitutes



The key words in your post are "(as far as we know yet)". There has been
very little research on sucralose (Splenda) but if you search Google on the
words "Splenda" and "toxicity" you will find that is not that much better
than aspartame (Nutrasweet). That being said, I don't think either is
especially dangerous. Body chemistry varies significantly from one person to
the next and what causes an allergic reaction in one will not necessarily
have any effect on the next person. I know a guy who can't eat anything with
wheat in it, not to mention several who can't drink milk. If we were to
eliminate from the food supply all substances that anyone, anywhere might
have a bad reaction to, our choices would be slim.
