[at-l] I'm...

Felix, that is entirely off topic.

I have no idea where it is. Especially if the check is for more than $1,000.

William, The "Finders-Keepers" Turtle

On Topic: What's the "neatest" thing y'all have found on the trail? Or off
trail that you used on trail?

Mine was a European Backpack that someone left at a SF con in Baltimore.
The tag on it said that it had come from one of the Scandinavian countries.
I presume that the owner was rushing out to catch a plane and left his/her
backpack. And since we were tearing down the dealer's room, we had no place
to leave stuff left in the dealers' room. So, finders-keepers. It was a
great backpack. Lasted me for several years for everything from camping to
going into town to the library and for shopping and... Plus there was the
cognac someone left.

On trail, I found a "free-for-all" bag of food. Helped pace me out 'til the
next town. Even had some kosher tomato powdered soup in it. Stirred into
the one ramen I had left and with some veggie TVP (also in bag), it made a
good mock spaghetti. Plus the beer in the nearby stream tasted mighty good.

I'm missing check number 751. Has anyone seen it?
