[at-l] I'm On a Roll

Kelly worries about bears, while noting that others
sleep with food in their tents and other poor habits.

Bears are not particularly interested in humans.
Neither are other critters, other than mosquitos,
ticks and other key predators. Bears, mice, raccoons,
porq's and such see us primarily as delivery persons.

If you bring food their way, they will go for it. If
you do this for bears, you are endangering the life of
that bear. Fed Bear = Dead Bear.

If you do this for other scavengers, you may be
endangering the lives of yourself and other hikers due
to the parasites and diseases associates with vermin
and mammals. Hanging your food isn't that difficult a
discipline to acquire and maintain.

Yes, many successfully avoid such a discipline and get
to write about it. Some people leave chads hanging
around.

Do you want to be like that?
