When my mother was having vision problems, she went to the 'Blind Living'
classes.  I went with her and took the classes too, wearing a blindfold for
the experience.  I really recommend that all hikers take the classes,
because they'll really open your eyes, so to speak.  I learned all kinds of
useful things.
