[at-l] ticks and spiders

Hi all...

Just a quick question about some creepy crawlies,
considering that some of you had some experience with
them.
Last weekend I was hiking in Luxembourg (Europe) and
wanted to demonstrate a climbing move on the rocks. I
grabbed a grip underneath a tiny spiderweb.

Right after I came back down, I felt like I had been
bitten by something between my fingers.
At first a bright red strip occurred, then you could
see something like a white circular bump (same as a
mosquito bite kind of), both of them disappearing
after that and then resulting in my hand swelling up
like crazy, to the point where I could not bend my
fingers anymore.
The swelling occurred over a period of a day or so.

Now, I know I can react quite allergically to certain
mosquito bites, but still.
No antihistaminic would work and because my doctor
didn't trust it one bit, he prescribed some prednison.
Now, very very slowly the swelling seems to go down.

What do you think, does this sound like a typical
spider bite or could it also have been a tick? Since I
didn't see what bit me...

Ciao,
Kajsa
