[at-l] who, where, & why

I am a retired high school mathematics teacher, after 35 years.  My computer 
is located in our retirement home on the south side of Crystal Lake in 
Gilmanton New Hampshire.  I can see the entire Belknap Mountain Range on the other 
side of the lake.  Beyond the mountains is Lake Winnipesauke.  From the top of 
Belknap there is a clear view of Mount Washington and the White Mountains of 
New Hampshire.

I do as much hiking as I can without annoying my wonderful wife of 37 years.  
I have climbed all but one of New Hampshire's 4,000 foot peaks.  I expect 
Suz(Spike) Buchanan will summit the last peak with me, Mount Isolation, in the 
not to distant future.  During the summer when the lake is warm, I make a point 
of swimming everyday.  I hope to be able to meet some of this years thru 
hikers and offer some trail magic.  I hoped to be among this years hikers but 
progress on construction of the retirement home became bogged down with the early 
arrival of winter.  Therefore, I will begin my thru hike in April of 2004.
