[at-l] Violence at 4 Pines Hostel.

The difference is that this guy chose to get drunk and is responsible for
the consequences of that choice. People don't choose to have a mental
illness. It is appropriate in either case to do what is necessary at the
moment deal with the situation as safely as possible by restraining the
violent party. It is highly inappropriate (and totally ineffective) to beat
up a mentally ill person as punishment for having a mental illness. While I
sympathize with your gut level response (kick his asss) on this one, I doubt
it would resolve the problem here either.

Geez, lots of uproar over a drunken "thru-hiking" fool attacking a woman,
but when a similar situation happened a couple weeks ago not so many were
concerned. I don't see the difference.

This one also deserves an ass kicking and should be banned from the trail.
