[at-l] Attaching a Platypus

Just buy some strapping or cordage. Sew to sack. Or buy some surgical
tubing. It is elastic. Attach to stuff sack. If you leave the ends long
enough, they can be whipped around the sack before tying down and that will
keep them cinched in. Or "ranger rubber bands" can be used. You can find
them in military type catalogs and some camping type catalogs. Or you can
make them by cutting up old bike tire innertubes or (larger) old car tire
innertubes. Often bike / car repair places will throw away old innertubes.

One guy I saw had his water in plastic milk jugs tied and snuggle against
his frame. I think he was using innertubes cut in strips.

Or you can hire some of those gals and guys who will carry your supplies for
you -- porters. If I had the money, I'd hire 1 for food, 1 for clothes,
tent, and sleeping bag, 1 for water, and 2 for beer and mountain dew. ;-)

Well, I have a rather ancient JanSport External frame pack, which has
neither a
built in sleeve, a top loading opening, or the option of putting it inside
my
pack :)

I like the stuff sack idea, but I don't want it sloshing around, smacking me
in
the head or something, as I hike. Guess I'll just have to experiment :)
