just a quick guest post while I'm waiting to be subbed.

This is a note to announce (admit?) that I'm going to attempt a thru GA>ME next summer.

A little bit about myself-- I'm 21, I'll br graduating in August with a degree in Recreation and Park Management. I'm currently doing my internship at a small township community center in Michigan.

My hiking partner is Beau... a dog (I know, I know... but he's my buddy anyway). He's a 3 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog who lives and breathes
for the trail. He's the only one I know who likes being on the trail more than I do.

Looks like I've got my pack's base weight down to 16-17 lbs for summer and 18-19 lbs for winter. Beau carries 3lbs of gear plus his own food and water.

My plan, at least for now, is to dehydrate as many meals as possible and have those shipped in and then suppliment from local stores from there.
While I know resupplying as I go is probably just as cheap (or sometimes cheaper) than having it shipped in, having Beau along for the haul does
limit my choices to a point.

Anyway, just a quick intro. I'll likely be a lurker for the rest of this summer just trying to graduate.
