Yes, I hiked this section SOBO shelter-to-shelter last January during a cold snap. The 18-mile stretch was pretty much my undoing with snow and 0 F temps, otherwise very enjoyable. Unless you have good conditions or are already very fit, break it up at a campsite. Tonight I will check my notes and see if I can suggest one.
