It's possible that this means easier stream crossings and less bugs for
southbounders, and another tough water year for northbounders in Maine.

Water storage systems cricital for West Branch
The drought that began in 2001 continues to plague the West Branch region
where water levels are lower now than they were a year ago, when they were
considered to be among the lowest on record."
"Meager snowfall and little rain resulted in Great Lakes' 56.1 billion cubic
foot storage system filling to only 30.3 billion cubic feet of water."
"Pittston Farm, located by Canada Falls at the headwaters of the West Branch,
received 60.5 inches of snow or 47 percent less than the long-term average of
113.7 inches. Millinocket received 72.5 inches of snow or 22 percent less
than the long-term average of 92.9 percent. In April, Pittston Farm received
1.6 inches of rain or 47 percent less than the long-term average of 2.9
inches. Millinocket received 1.9 inches of rain last month or 42 percent less
than the long-term average of 3.3 inches."
