I wish I could remember more about the pre-relo route.  At the time I hiked
the old route, I was a teen on hikes lead by others.  By the time I was
planning my own hikes in the area (actually paying attention to where I was)
the trail had been relocated.

However, I think (or rather have the feeling) that the old route did not go
that far south along the Parkway.

Someone at the ATC should have a 50's map, or something.  Someday when I am
up that way, I try to pin it down.

Was the shelter on Bluff Mtn., in Doughton Park, originally an AT shelter? I
