NORTH ADAMS (MA)-- An idea to post some directional signs to point
hikers the right way along the Appalachian Trail has developed into the
formation of an official trailhead which will put the city on the famous
path's map.

According to City Councilor William Donovan Jr., Williamstown resident
Cosmo Catalano, a volunteer chairperson of the Appalachian Trail
Management Committee, suggested a trailhead bulletin board be created,
expanding on the original idea.
