[at-l] Off for a 1 day "trek"

Pb,

Good luck, but I don't know why you would want to do that. The trail
corridor has been crowded by development and there's a trail angel around
every corner thrusting water and snacks at you. I also understand that
there's a very small percentage of southbounders (I guess more west,
actually) on the trail this time of year. Keep good journal notes and take
lots of pictures.

And please don't single out Ms. Ruiz just because she wasn't a purist. RYOM.

Seriously, good luck. If your time is really good, we'll rename you Kenya
Bear.

Take Care,

Tim

Tomorrow morning I will take the train to Boston and from there to my son's=
house in Natick. After a day of "conditioning" I will hit the "trailhead"=
in Hopkinton MA for a 1 day, 26.2 mile "trek" from Hopkinton back to Bosto=
n=2E The "trail" is very historic, having been in use for over 100 years c=
ontinuously. I hope to manage a pace of something around 7 MPH. This will=
not be a solo adventure, since close to 20,000 friends will accompany me. =
Blue or Yellow Blazing is very strongly discouraged (remember Rosie Ruiz!).

Wish me well. Results may be found on

(bib # 13730)

After a few weeks of recovery from this, I hope to get back to some slow sp=
eed (as in 2 MPH) long distance hiking again.
