That's all well and good, but as I explained I can't get ANY anti virus
program downloaded from the net to work, although I've yet to try Grizsoft.

I elected not to do another total restoration.  It's just too time comsuming
to re-install the various programs I use.  I may overwrite windows to try to
correct any errors, but since everything seems to be working at the moment
I'll wait.  In the meantime, I'm not opening any attachemnts or connected to
a network, so hopefully I'll be safe.
