The torture comment had to do with a way
overloaded pack.  Properly packed and not
overloaded, I do *not* think it's torture.
I'm not that masochistic.  I am, however,
realistic, and frameless packs just are
not comfortable if you put too much
in them.  Sometimes you just gotta.  Hiker
hunger takes precedence over back comfort.
