I found this list of the top ten paid NFP CEOs. You may find it interesting.

Someone said that a good NFP CEO is worth their weight in gold, and that's
absolutely true. I'm not going to pretend that I know everything about the
AMC, but I'm sure that they have hundreds, if not thousands of paid
employees as well as volunteers doing the work, and it takes someone very
skilled to coordinate everything well.

If we compare this to a similar list of FOR profit CEOs... we see a big
difference.

This list includes stock options and such... which the CEO of a NFP org
probably wouldn't get [as much off, anyway, a ForP CEOs BONUS can be in the
10s of millions of dollars]. If you're wondering... $186,000 is .05% of the
#1 and .7% of the #10. Peanuts. Personally, $186,000 is not a lot of money
when you consider the education, amount of time, overall skill and talent
required to run a truly successful NFP organization.
