[at-l] Helping a newbie - anybody near the Blueberry Patch?

He's the same size as me, 10 1/2 wide. I'd send him mine, but there isn't
too much life left in them. Hearing that there is a good outfitter at Neels
Gap makes me pretty happy. If we can get him a pair of Lowas as
recommended, get him some real socks (Bridgedales or Smartwools instead of
the *&*! Fox Rivers he insisted on), and get him into a real pack 90% of his
problems are solved. Anybody out there willing to take a trip to the
outfitters?
I think a major part of the leg numbness comes from sitting and sleeping on
the ground. He doesn't sit well on the ground. I tried to get him into a
hammock, but he was resistant to that too... Maybe he'll need a folding
camp stool before it's over...
Sending him to Atlanta to get checked sounds like the best plan so far.
