[at-l] Response from Katadyn

Got a response from Katadyn in Switzerland. They sent their fact
sheet in PDF format. Among other stuff, it says:

"Use one Micropur Forte tablet for one litre of clear water; wait 10
minutes until the tablet has dissolved; shake well; wait another 20
minutes before using the water."

"Further tips:
. If the water is very cold or you are concerned about the possible
presence of Giardia cysts in the wter, only drink after two hours."

"Active substances: Sodium silver chloride complex with 0.1% share of
silver ions and 2.45% of Calcium hypochlorite (percentages in ref. to
1 litre of water)...Effects: Eliminates bacteria and viruses in clear
water in 30 minutes as well as most protozoa, apart from Giardia, in
120 minutes. Conserves drinking water up to 6 months...Materials:
Can be used in plastic or glass. Check metals before use. Notes on
safety: If in your eyes, rinse immediately with water...Storage:
Store in the original packaging in a dry place under 25 degrees
Celsius. {Isn't that 77F? Forget summer use!} Shelf-life: 2 years
from manufacture date."

"For clear, not for cloudy water as suspended matter can weaken the
effect of chlorine and silver ions..."

OK. This is not the magic bullet the REI PR would lead you believe.
