[at-l] Cost to Enter National Parks may go up...

I read in the newspaper (Bucks County Courier Times, Feb 5, 2003)  that
the Bush administration is planning to raise more than $2 billion by
charging new or larger fees on all kinds of services.  This is supposed
to partly offset the big tax cut that is supposed to go into place.  One
of those things on the list is the cost to enter national parks.  This
may effect thru hikers entering  national parks, making a thru hike more
expensive, but I don't really know for sure. They didn't say it would
specifically effect thru hikers on the AT, but I think that we should
keep an eye on this.
