[at-l] Thru-hiker etiquette

Another thing about journals, they let people know where you
are and where you have been. Is this important? You bet,
what happens if you are suppose to met A at a trail head and
you don't show. A calls the authorities and using the
journals they can trace where you have been and if you had to
get off of the trail.

What happens if someone does not know your tail name? Then
you could be up the creek. Sign with both names. Do not
take journals that are placed in shelters by trail
maintenance organizations. We need to know the number of
visitors and when they visit. It gives us leaverage when
dealing with state organizations.
