I want to learn the question to the Ultimate Answer of the
Universe (42) but I don't want to have to read all of Dave
Adam's writing.

Welcome both of you to our campfire. These are good questions,
but both are available if you try to focus a little bit. You can
get general answers for equipment and such from websites like
REI, Backpacker and the ATC. But much more useful answers come
from asking specific questions.

For instance, how to find dehydrated meals for less than $4?
Answer: Look in you kitchen and figure out how to dehydrate
stuff that you were planning to throw away!

The best time to tackle the AT will be April 21, 2168 following
the successful paving of the entire trail and opening to hover
craft! (Jean Dickson told me last night.)

Come on! Ask some focused questions based on the gear and
experience you already have. We would far rather tackle such
questions than debate on the efficiencies of windmills, mirrors,
nuclear fission, gas turbines or di-lithium crystals.
