And where do we get hydrogen?  Actually if the electricity
required for the electrolysis of water is made at a coal
burning plant then the hydrogen car is potentially more
polluting than a gasoline car.  On the other hand if the
electricity is generated by windmills the hydrogen car could
be a very clean vehicle.  Unfortunately there is a lot of
resistence to windmills in the states.  There are better
alternatives starting with walking, followed by the bicycle,
followed by public transportation.
