PS: The Bibbelmun Track on the southwestern part of
Australia (northern terminus is near Perth) is patterned
after the Appalachian Trail -- has AT patterned shelters
every 10 KM or so. As I remember it's about 800 miles long
and ends up on the southwestern coast.
