[at-l] Gear List Posted

I just came into the middle of this -- didn't see the
original post but have the web upload of the gear list.
Here are my comments about your gear list:

Consider changing these items:
-- Your empty backpacks are a bit heavy for an AT thru-hike
-- Those sleeping bags are pretty lightweight -- even with
them being Western Mountaineering, they should be 20* bags
or warmer or there may be nights were you'll have to learn
to sleep cold
-- Laura's 'rainsuit' is too heavy. Look at something
lighter
-- you need more socks than 2 liners and one outer each. At
least 2 pair of say Smartwool Expedition Trecking or Thorlo
Hiker socks because one or both outer pairs will surely get
soaked
-- you probably have too much in clothes but most
northbound AT thru-hikers do start out with too much in
clothing and send much home at NOC or before

Consider dropping these items:
-- tent footprint
-- camp shoes - most Year 2000 northbound AT thru-hikers
sent these home or up ahead in a bounce box and only wore
them in town
-- bear bag -- won't need it at all
-- parachute cord -- won't need it without the bear bag

Hope this helps -- have a great time on your thru-hike!

Datto
