[at-l] Last night on TV

What's sadder is the fact that people are really that stupid...speaks
volumes about our educational system.   I caught a few minutes of the Meet
the Folks show last night, where 8 young, stereotypically hot females fight
for a date with a stereotypical jock of a guy, catch being, his folks get to
choose the gal.  They did a mini-quiz show to determine the intelligence
level of the ladies - the final question, how far is it from this house to
Time Square - closest answer wins.  One gal answered "25,000 miles".
<sigh>.  Her response when she was told she was wrong - "I don't do well
with miles, don't ask me for directions".  <bigger sigh>

it seems the latest craze on tv is to laugh at (enjoy) people's short
comings.  Ever see Jay Leno's "jay walking"?  I think it's sad that people
find this entertaining.
