Observer's Comments
Tuesday 4:30 PM
Well, the winds have returned with a roar in the last 24 hours. The first
thing I was told upon waking up was we would have a likely delay in shift
change since conditions are only expected to get worse over the next day.
Visibility has been way down as well. This afternoon we all just took it ea=
sy
and watched the ?Matrix?. Afterwords, we decided to put on our gear and bra=
ve
the elements. We knew there was no hope at all of being able to stand, so
instead we got on our stomachs and slithered away across the deck to the
railing. Even that proved to be difficult! Staying low, and hanging on to t=
he
railing for dear life, we managed to make our way halfway down the length o=
f
the deck before we realized we should save our energy for getting back! We
all made it safely back in where we rushed to check what our maximum gust h=
ad
been while out. 114!
