[at-l] shin splints



Make sure you stretch before and after exercise (hiking).  Lean up against a
tree or wall with your foot planted flat on the ground.  Bend at the ankle
so your straight back leg is at about 45 degrees.  Hold that position for
about thirty seconds.  Then do a similar stretch but with the knee bent.
