Yes, there was a question regarding a tripod.  Just a suggestion
but a lightweight alternative is an ultrapod.

This option would enable you to take self portraits  or group shots
by attaching the camera via Velcro to a tree or hiking pole.  It weighs
about 2 oz. and is quite easy to use.
